WWF started its activities in Uganda by establishing a project coordination office in 1992 to promote its mission in the country as an integral part of WWF’s mission in East Africa.

WWF Uganda Country Office is implementing several projects in Uganda. WWF UCO implements projects under three programmes;

i.Fresh water

ii.Forestry

iii.Energy and Climate

Some of the ongoing projects include:

1.Sustainable Forestry Change Management Project

2.Rwenzori Mountains Conservation and Environmental Management Project

3.Strengthening Sustaibale Environment and Natural Resource Management Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation in Uganda

4.Forest Law enforcement, Governance and Trade

5.Energy and Climate

6.Oil for Development

7.Semuliki River Catchment and Water Resources Management Project

Species

There are two flagship species categories in Uganda: the African Elephant and the Great Apes (mountain gorilla and chimpazee) This blog will bring stories from the field about these projects. We would like to hear from you so please, drop us a comment. Thank you for reading!
